Electrofusion fittings use embedded heating elements to join compatible HDPE pipe. This approach can be useful for repairs, tie-ins and locations where space, pipe geometry or field conditions make conventional butt-fusion equipment impractical.
Reliable fusion starts before the heating cycle. Pipe ends and fittings must be compatible, clean and properly aligned. Heating, joining pressure and cooling time must follow the requirements for the pipe, fitting and application. Site access and weather protection also affect how the work is planned.
